陪同翻譯需要掌握什么知識？

　　1、飲食類詞匯。陪同翻譯十有八九會遇到與外賓一起吃飯的情形。對于不懂中文的外賓，每道菜叫什么名字、有哪些食材組成、用了什么烹飪方法、背后有何典故都是關(guān)注的焦點(diǎn)，特別是對某些飲食有禁忌或?qū)χ袊惋嬑幕信d趣的外賓，一定要清楚的知道每道菜的組成和來龍去脈方肯罷休。如果這時翻譯不能準(zhǔn)確提供上述信息，外賓嘴上不說、心里也會對譯員的水平打上問號。

　　1. Food vocabulary. In nine out of ten, an accompanying translator will encounter the situation of having dinner with a foreign guest. For foreign guests who don't know Chinese, what's the name of each dish, what's the ingredients of each dish, what's the cooking method used, and what's the allusion behind it are the focus of attention. Especially for foreign guests who have some taboos on food or are interested in Chinese food culture, it's necessary to know clearly the composition and origin of each dish. If the translator cannot provide the above-mentioned information accurately, the foreign guest will not say it on his / her mouth, and will also mark the level of the translator with a question mark in his / her mind.

　　2、醫(yī)藥衛(wèi)生類詞匯。出門在外難免有個頭疼腦熱，如果外賓遇到水土不服或生病的情況，翻譯自然責(zé)無旁貸地?fù)?dān)任起陪同看病或買藥的任務(wù)。因此，掌握常見疾病的名稱、癥狀描述、診斷方法和藥品名稱十分必要。這樣才不會在遇到突發(fā)情況時亂了方寸。

　　2. Medical and health vocabulary. It's hard to avoid a headache when going out. If the foreign guests are not satisfied with the local conditions or get sick, the translator is duty bound to accompany them to see a doctor or buy medicine. Therefore, it is necessary to know the name, symptom description, diagnosis method and drug name of common diseases. In this way, we won't mess up in case of emergency.

　　3、參觀游覽常用詞匯與句型。陪同翻譯的最主要職能就是陪外賓參觀游覽，對于風(fēng)景名勝、宗教文化、歷史典故等理應(yīng)了如指掌。這里特別提示下比較容易忽視的是一些常見或特色動植物名稱、宗教特定詞匯及歷史人物、故事的翻譯。

　　3. Visit common vocabulary and sentence patterns. The most important function of accompanying translation is to accompany foreign visitors to visit and tour, and they should be familiar with scenic spots, religious culture, historical allusions and so on. It is easy to ignore the translation of some common or characteristic animal and plant names, religious specific words, historical figures and stories.

　　4、商品和砍價的常用句型。購物是幾乎每個翻譯都會遇到的問題，而不同外賓關(guān)注點(diǎn)不一樣，有時所購的東西可能超出我們熟悉的范圍。

　　4. Common sentence patterns of commodity and bargain. Shopping is a problem that almost every translator will encounter, and different foreign guests have different concerns. Sometimes, what they buy may be beyond our familiar scope.

　　5、涉及中國國情和傳統(tǒng)文化的詞匯。這個范圍非常大，小到中醫(yī)、氣功、美術(shù)、書法、音樂、文學(xué)、體育，大到中國各地的政治、經(jīng)濟(jì)、社會、人文、地理等，包羅萬象。作為譯員，平時最好多多積累，才不致于在外賓問道時露怯。

　　5. Vocabulary related to China's national conditions and traditional culture. The scope is very large, ranging from traditional Chinese medicine, qigong, fine arts, calligraphy, music, literature and sports to politics, economy, society, humanities and geography in all parts of China. As an interpreter, it's better to accumulate more at ordinary times, so as not to be timid when the foreign guest asks.
